PI IT Monitor System Requirements

Hardware

A computer capable of running Windows NT or newer.
A network interface card compatible with Windows NT.

Software

PI IT Monitor runs on Windows NT 4.0, Windows 2000, or Windows XP computers.

The following PI IT Monitor components require third-party software:

PI SNMP Interface
PI SNMP requires that an SNMP Agent be installed on the device whose status and performance you wish to monitor. For example, in order for PI SNMP to collect data regarding the behavior of a network router, an SNMP Agent must be installed on that router.

PI NetFlow Interface
PI NetFlow requires a device that is capable of exporting messages that conform to Cisco Systems’ NetFlow protocol. Alternatively, you may install PI IT Monitor’s PacketCapture component, which exports NetFlow messages.

PacketCapture
PacketCapture needs the WinPcap library files (packet.dll and wpcap.dll). You can obtain the latest copies of these files from the following Web page:

PI DataLink 3.x requires either

Microsoft Excel 2000, version 9.0 and later, or
Lotus 1-2-3 release 9.5 or later

PI Tag Configurator

Microsoft Excel 97, version 8.0 with Service Release 1 or later.

PI Module Database Editor

Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4 SP2 or higher.
