PI OPC DA/HDA Server Overview
PI OPC DA/HDA Server is an OPC server for OSI Software's PI data archives. It implements the OPC Data Access (DA) standard 2.05a, and the OPC Historical Data Access (HDA) standard 1.2. It supports browsing, synchronous reads, asynchronous reads, read on change (also known as "advise" data), and both writes and deletes. It does not support the annotations and playback interfaces of the HDA standard, both of which are optional interfaces.
This server will interoperate with any OPC client that is compliant with one or more of those standards, to allow the user to read data from PI, insert data into PI, or delete data from PI. It allows access both to the PI archive tags and to the PI Module Database (PI MDB) modules, aliases, and properties. Note that not all interfaces and methods are implemented for PI MDB objects, as not all of the interfaces and methods make sense in the context of the PI MDB.
This server can be installed on the same system as a PI archive, or it can be installed on a separate system. It will communicate with any PI archive known to the local PI-SDK, and can serve data from multiple PI systems simultaneously.

OPC Foundation Certified for Compliance logo indicates that the PI OPC DA Server has been tested by an independent certification lab and certified to be compliant with the following OPC Specifications:

- OPC Historical Data Access (HDA) 1.2*
*PI OPC HDA Server is OPC Foundation Self-Tested for Compliance which indicates that the PI OPC HDA Server has been tested by the manufacturer to be compliant with OPC Historical Data Access (HDA) 1.2.
