PI OPC Interface System Requirements
OPC Interface requirements:
- Windows 2003 Server, Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows NT4 SP6
- Each OPC interface connects with one and only one OPC Server*
- OPC Interface 2.1.0 and higher requires the PI SDK** and PI API to be installed and configured on the machine (The PI SDK is installed with the PI Interface Configuration Utility (ICU)).
- Interface-level failover requires Microsoft Clustering
- High Availability requires PI SDK version v.1.3.4.333 or later, which is included with PI ICU 1.4.1.0 (PR1) and later.
Recommended tools used to configure the OPC Interface:
PI Tag Configurator (installed with PI System Management Tools (PI SMT)) which requires:
- PI Server 3.3.361.43 or greater (on Home node)
- PI SDK 1.1.0.142 or greater (installed by the PI SMT install kit)
- PI Module Database Editor v1.0.14 (installed by the PI SMT setup)
- OPC Server 2.0a that supports the “Browser” interface.
- PI Interface Configuration Utility (PI ICU)
PI Interface Configuration Utility(PI ICU) which requires:
- Windows NT4.0 SP6 or higher
- PI 3.3 Server running on Windows
- PI SDK (installed automatically)
*The OPC Interface does not come with an OSI-supplied OPC Server.
**OSI offers a version of the OPC interface which does not use the PI SDK. This is intended to make it easier for those customers who are using PI 3.2 servers.
