PI Enterprise Server (3.x) System Requirements

Hardware
System size configuration depends on two primary parameters: point count and amount of online history. Several other parameters also impact size, although the effects are much less quantitative, and therefore it is difficult to supply specific size information. Examples of these parameters are:
  • Snapshot rate
  • Archive rate
  • Archive access
  • Non-PI activity on the system

The Getting Started guide addresses required disk space and physical memory. Processor and processor count is not covered except for minimum processor support.  Under the PI 3 Enterprise Server "Extras" in the support site's Download Center is a Hardware Recommendations Spreadsheet which can aid in finding the proper hardware for your setup.
