Initialization Files

Two Utility Functions are provided to build initialization files. Initialization files contain sections with one or more entries in each section. For example:

[SectionName]

EntryName=value1

EntryName=value2

The section name is enclosed by square brackets. The entry value is considered to start to the right of the equal sign ("=") and run to the end of the file record, and may contain one or several values of any data type.

This means that the meaning of each entry is determined by the application program. The value of an entry is always set or retrieved as a character string. To add an entry to a file, use the piut_writeprofile call and to read an entry use the piut_getprofile call.
