PI Login services is a Microsoft Windows-specific library of routines intended for use in client applications which provide a user interface. Dialogs commonly used in PI applications, (tag search, connections, point attributes) have been provided in a convenient form to ease development and provide consistency among developed applications. The library also manages multiple connections, allowing reuse of server-specific logon information between applications. This eliminates the need for a user to logon repeatedly to the same server in different applications.
PILogin services is implemented as a dynamic link library, PILOGIN.DLL. Prototypes, structures, and defined constants are contained in the header file PILOGEX.H. It consists of three major components: application registration; multiple PI Server connections; and tag search and point attribute viewing.
