An application using the point caching configuration has the ability to synchronize application point configuration data with that of the host PI Server.
Point information for the application can be synchronized with the PI Server once a valid connection to the PI Server becomes available. For example, an application is started using the point caching configuration. The connection to the PI Server is lost due to a network failure or some other reason. While the application connection to the PI Server is down, the administrator modifies the point database. The connection to the PI Server is now available. The application can synchronize its point cache to match the current point configuration on the PI Server. Without restarting the application, points that were created on the PI Server while disconnected are added to the application. Similarly, edited points are updated in the application and deleted points are removed from the application.
