Add Method (PITimeZoneInfos Collection)

Add a new PITimeZoneInfo record to the system.

Syntax

object.Add ZoneID, ZoneName, StandardName, StandardShortName, DayLightName, DayLightShortName, Bias, JanuaryIsStandard, DSTRules

The Add method syntax has these parts:

Part Description
object An object expression that evaluates to a PITimeZoneInfos collection.
ZoneID A UID may be passed or a blank if TimeZoneInfos is to generate a UID.
ZoneName An identifying name for the time zone such as "Mountain time". See Settings below for allowable characters.
StandardName The full name for the time zone during standard time.
StandardShortName The short name for the time zone during standard time.
DayLightName The full name for the time zone during daylight time.
DayLightShortName The short name for the time zone during daylight time.
Bias The offset in seconds from UTC time where Local time = UTC + Bias
JanuaryIsStandard A boolean representing whether January is standard time or daylight (Southern hemisphere).
DSTRules The array of PITimeZoneRules used to determine when changes to and from daylight occur.

Settings

Setting Description
ZoneName The following characters are not permitted in the ZoneName argument which uniquely identifies a particular time zone within the collection.

A ZoneName may not be blank.

 

Trappable Errors

In addition to generic errors (such as Out of Memory), the following errors may occur:

Error Description
tseNOEMPTYSTRINGS A string argument (ZoneName, StandardName, StandardShortName, DayLightName, DayLightShortName) cannot be blank.
tseINVALIDARG A time zone name cannot be a UID.
tseDUPLICATENAME Only one time zone can exist for a given name.
