ListSpecificAttributes Method (PISDK objects)

              

 

This method retrieves attributes from the specified attribute set or point class with characteristics that match the passed AttributeTypeConstant. The method returns a NamedValues collection containing the names and default values of the attributes that match the criteria.

Syntax

object.ListSpecificAttributes Name, AttributeType

The ListSpecificAttributes method syntax has these parts:

Description

object

An object expression that evaluates to a an object from the Applies To list.

Name

A string containing the name of an existing attribute set or PointClass from which the desired attributes are selected.

AttributeType

A constant from the AttributeTypeConstants set specifying the type of attributes to return.

 

Remarks

This method can be used to determine which attributes in a set or class may be modified by the user (attypEditable). Certain attributes in the “base” attribute set and “base” PointClass, (such as the last user to change a point’s definition), are only assigned by the server and can not be written by client applications.

Attributes which can be modified by a client given sufficient permissions.

attypAliased

Attributes which are derived from other attributes (for example compdevpercent).

attypBuiltIn

Attributes which are assigned directly by the server (for example the last modified date for a point’s definition).
