CollectiveConnectionType Property (IPICollective interface)



This read-only property returns an enumeration of type pisdkCollectiveConnectionType indicating how the current server is connected – as a member or as the collective.




The object placeholder is an object expression that evaluates to a IPICollective interface, obtained from a Server object.


The pisdkCollectiveConnectionType enumeration constants can take the following values:
Setting Description
cctCollective Connected as a collective.
cctMember Connected to only one member of the collective.


In general applications connect to a collective using a server from the Known Servers Table which represents the Collective as a unit.  Using the MemberOpen method it is possible to address specific members of a collective.  This is mostly done for administrative purposes.

Trappable Errors

In addition to generic errors (such as Out of Memory), the following errors may occur:
