Passed a CollectiveMember object, this method provides a connection to a specific member of the collective. The method returns a Server object which is not part of the Servers collection. The object is instead added to the OpenServers collection.
object.MemberOpen MemberSrv, bstrConnect
The MemberOpen method syntax has these parts:
|object||An object expression that evaluates to an IPICollective interface.|
|MemberSrv||A CollectiveMember object representing the collective member server where the new connection is desired.|
|bstrConnect||A connection string for the selected server. A blank string will use defaults.|
This is intended for server management use. A Server object obtained this way does not support failover. When members of the collective are opened in this way, the collective itself cannot be opened. Likewise when the collective is opened normally, MemberOpen will fail. These are mutually exclusive connection mechanisms.
In addition to generic errors (such as Out of Memory), the following errors may occur:
|pseSERVERNOTCOLLECTIVE||The Server is not a collective|
