CreateSystemState Method (PIData object)



Return a system DigitalState object given a Variant which contains either the state name or its code.

The CreateSystemState method syntax has these parts:

Part Description
object An object expression that evaluates to a PIData object.


A Variant containing a either a string designating the system state or a number representing the 0 based code of the state.



System states are used to represent error conditions.  System states may be sent as values to PIPoints of any type.  To obtain a DigitalState object from a PIPoint's DigitalSet to send to a PIPoint of type Digital use the method CreateDigitalState
