This read only property returns the most recent value stored on the server for the associated PIPoint as a PIValue object.
The object placeholder is an object expression that evaluates to an object in PIData.
The behavior of the snapshot property is affected by the Collecting property of the parent PIData object. When Collecting is set to False, the default, accessing the Snapshot property results in a call to the server to retrieve the current value. When Collecting is set to True, the PI-SDK keeps track of changes to the snapshot automatically, calling the Server as necessary, so accessing the property retrieves a locally stored value. This behavior has implications on the design and performance of an application. Another method of tracking changes to a PIPoint's value is through use of the EventPipe property.
