Advise tags successfully update with last good value when excmax is surpassed
  • New setting for OPC server connection timeout - A new parameter, /CT, allows the user to configure how long to wait for a response from an unresponsive OPC server before concluding that the connection to the server has been lost

    New Features
    • Custom names for OPC groups are now supported.

    UniInt Enhancements
    • Security updates - UniInt leverages the latest Microsoft software security defenses provided by the compiler and operating system. • Least privileged account support - Interface services are now allowed to run under an account with the least privileges required, and limit the rights of the account to access resources. • Improved performance - on disconnected startup point caching. • Read-only installation option - is now available for Read-write interfaces to prevent any data from being written to the data source.
    Release
    PI Interface for OPC DA
    2.4.5.113
    2013-05
Significant improvements to performance and usability.
Optimized efficiency of scan classes with large numbers of points - these scan classes are now processed faster.
Improved monitoring of data reception for polled groups - a configurable monitor thread will now set the device status of the interface when more than the configured number of scan periods has passed without receiving a response from the OPC server.
Improved handling of time zone changes and daylight savings time adjustments - UTC timestamps are now passed to PI.
Improvements to memory consumption - the interface can be configured to change the device status to provide a warning when the output queue grows to a specified size and to drop either oldest or newest outputs when the queue grows to another specified size.
    Improvements to outputs -
    - Multiple output groups are now supported.
    - UniInt failover outputs can be put in a separate output group. - Performance Improvements – the interface supports multiple outstanding writes for OPC Servers which support this.
Corrected an issue - where the interface ignored a timestamp setting and always retrieved the timestamp from the OPC server. Improved handling of output points during failover situations - Multiple scenarios now handled so that output data back to the OPC server is not resent.

    PI Interface for OPC DA
    2.3.20.9
    2012-06
Added support for OPC Security Interface version 1.0, added new failover options and fixed critical bugs.
New features: Improved security options - The OPC Security Interface version 1.0 is now supported, which gives the option of using NT Security or OPC private security.
New option for cold failover – allows a node that was primary and had a bad status the opportunity to regain good status and become primary again without a restart.
New options for failover - where there is both PI Interface failover and data source (a.k.a. server) failover.
Fixes: Staggered activation of groups - now works properly for Warm_2 failover.
Fixed a rare crash - occurring with certain configurations of pseudo tags.
    Service Pack
    PI Interface for OPC DA
    2.3.17.18
    2011-08
This release addresses important bug fixes.
Rare, potential data-loss problem fixed – If the PI Server connection was lost during interface startup, the interface might fail to load all of its points.  This potential problem exists in UniInt version 4.5.0.59 and 4.5.1.4, affecting versions 2.3.14.0 and 2.3.16.16 of this interface.  This has been corrected in this version of the interface now built on version 4.5.2.0 of UniInt.
    Service Pack
    PI Interface for OPC DA
    2.3.16.16
    2011-06
This release updates the bit mask plug-in as well as fixes some issues.
Bug Fixes: Failover Logging Fixed – Changes to logging in the previous release caused the interface to hang when using the debug option "Log Cluster and Failover Inform." (/DB=128).  This issue has been fixed. Staggered group activation - improved to handle short scan periods. Plug-Ins: The previously released OPCPluginBitmask DLL version 2.3.11.2 has been incorporated into the self extracting exe install kit.

    PI Interface for OPC DA
    2.3.14
    2011-05
mPI health information in performance counters and mPI severity messages. Updated APS Connector. Additonal bug fixes.
    • Interface Messages are now written to the PI Message Log - and are no longer written to the pipc.log file.
    • Improvements to Failover
    • Interface health information now written to performance counters - a subset of this information is still available through UniInt Health Tags as well.
    • Tag configuration error easier to detect - if a tag has certain configuration problems that cause it to be rejected by the OPC Server, a value of “configure” will be written to the tag in the PI server.  In the past, a customer could only detect this through the log file. • Updated APS Connector - Support for more Windows OS versions, ability to cotnrol rate of OPC calls and configuration improvements.
