    PI AF templates, elements, hierarchies, and attributes updated to better represent individual components of monitored services – Please refer to the following user guide/section for the needed upgrade procedure.  Scan frequency now automatically set for health data- the scan frequency is no longer configurable by the user; but instead, PI points are now internally categorized into 2, 5 or 30 second scan frequency rates.

    The PI Web API is a suite of REST services and APIs targeted at providing Web and Mobile programmatic access to PI System Data.
    This release adds support for creating and editing of Security attributes, Event Frame Annotations and Attribute Traits. Also included are the ability to add an existing Element as a child of another, time zone information in queries, and gzip compression of inbound data.

    This release will continue to enhance the display editor with more editing and configuration options.  A major new feature will be added to dynamically search for and compare events.  You will be able to specify asset type, time range, event type, event severity, and other parameters when performing an event search.  Also the extensibility framework will continue to be enhanced to allow more powerful custom visual symbols to be added to the editor.

    This release re-introduces dynamic transpose functions to the PI SQL Commander. The Commander can also fix custom transpose functions that have been invalided by AF edits. PI OLEDB Enterprise now supports the Location Traits in AF 2016 R2, and fixes an inefficiency when querying Event Frames with captured attribute values.

    This release supports the OPC Historical Data Access (HDA) standard version 1.2 on both 32- and 64-bit Windows operating systems. For support of the OPC DA standard, use the PI OPC DA Server.
    This release fixes a memory growth issue that can occur when writing large numbers of time series data values to the PI Data Archive and a correction of the calculation basis of the PctGood summary from event-weighted to time-weighted.
